Love this piggy steamer lid (actually have two of them). Cute, works as needed and keeps the microwave clean from splatters. Rinse it off or throw it in the microwave - very handy! Seems a little pricey but it should last forever.Really like the piggy steamerI’d buy another today if they had a larger sizeKeeps my microwave clean. Great to cover bowls in microwave. Easy to clean. I wish there was one that would cover a plate. I would but that one too. This would probably work on an individual soup bowl, but nothing bigger than that.I love this little piggy. I use it all the time in the microwave and sometimes on top of things I’m steaming on the stove in a small pot. It’s easy to clean by hand and also dishwasher safe. I love it so much that I’ve bought several for people I know. Everyone I’ve bought one for loves it too.I'll be totally honest here that this was not a completely sober purchase. It created enormous hilarity when it arrived. Nobody knew what it was for. The packaging was solely in Japanese, which didn't help us figure it out. We named him Flat Albert, and he's adorable. The kids tried it as a frisbee but it was a flop (see what I did there?). He was a pretty terrible mask as well, due to no eye holes. I eventually decided it was a cover for a dish in the microwave to prevent splatter, and that is how we use it. It's the perfect size to cover a cereal or soup bowl. I've washed it over and over in the dishwasher with zero ill effect. No signs of staining so far. Flat Albert is a welcome addition to our home!I'm a little surprised to come review it and see pictures of it IN a pot of food boiling away, and I'm now even more confused and amused about the situation. Flat Albert, what are you for??? Why would anyone set a flat pig in a boiling pot of stew? Is it to prevent boil over? Huh. And there's multiple sizes? Maybe Flat Albert needs a buddy or partner, and maybe I need a pig tutorial to understand their use, but I have zero regrets about my purchase. It's one of those... "Why didn't I think of that?' moments. So easily a game changer. I see a lot of Japanese vs. other production questions. All I know is that the label looked very "written in Japanese" and it works as reported, so...Does what it says and looks the same. The one I got was made in China. I do not believe that this being made in China changes anything, it functions just the same. It's just a big ol' disc of silicone not like it's going to be somehow different. The size I got is good for the smaller saucepans and on bowls when microwaving. Also most importantly, it's cute.Does the job. Looks good when removed from the cheap novelty packaging - I paid nearly £35 which is crazy expensive, but was worth it for the smiles when I gave it as a gift.Way too small to microwave anything. Really cute but I wasted my money.Wish it was a bit bigger in diameter. A bit too pricey.
